LIFELONG LEARNING
LAB

I'm working with a team from the MIT Media Lab,the Lego Foundation, and Tsinghua University in Beijing, China to create a hub for the best practices in creative thinking and playful learning.





TINKERING
STUDIO

I try and spend as much time as possible with the inspiring people and great ideas that make the Tinkering Studio my favorite part of the Exploratorium.




CS4HS @ DUKE

I presented at a workshop developed by Owen Astrachan and Brook Osborne at Duke University.  They're developing a new AP course called Computer Science Principles.  You can see some ideas from my presentation here.



SCRATCH IN SHANGHAI

I'm a member  of the Scratch team and I enjoy bringing this great tool to a variety of learners. My current work is an ongoing collaboration in Shanghai. I'm also writing a book about Scratch for No Starch Press. The book is a book of explorations and projects with the computer for kids.



MAKER FAIRE

As the Creative Director of KID Museum - an emerging chidlren's museum in Montgomery County, Maryland - I am helping organize the region's first Maker Faire happening on September 29th in Silver Spring, Maryland.




TOMORROW'S TOYS

I developed and lead an intensive workshop for high school students that introduced learning through design and making with a variety of electronics and computer programming.




LUMINOUS MOTION

As a visiting teaching artist at the American Visionary Art Museum I design and teach a number of "tinkering" workshops, focusing on machines and electronics in visionary art.  One recent example is "Luminous Motion." I'm now developing new ideas for the museum's new show.
